One little tip

Turmeric can leave a mark. Choose something you’re happy to get a little colourful, and shoes you can move in.

Suggested looks · final dress guidance to follow

Your first Indian wedding?

Come as a guest.
Feel like family.

A few little introductions to the traditions you may encounter. Customs vary between families; we’ll share the details of our own ceremony nearer the day.

What are Haldi and Mehendi?

Haldi is a joyful pre-wedding tradition involving turmeric paste. Mehendi is the application of intricate henna designs. You’re welcome to enjoy the gathering, ask questions and join in when invited.

What happens at a Sangeet?

A Sangeet brings families and friends together through music and dancing. No expertise needed — enthusiasm and a willingness to celebrate are plenty.

What is a Baraat?

The Baraat is the groom’s celebratory arrival procession, often accompanied by music and dancing. If it forms part of our day, we’ll include the meeting point and time in the final schedule.

During the Hindu ceremony

There may be prayers, garland exchanges and rituals around a sacred fire. Follow our families’ and celebrant’s guidance, keep phones quiet, and remove shoes if asked in the ceremony area.

A few thoughtful little things

Ask before taking close-up photographs during rituals. You don’t need to know every custom — follow the hosts’ lead, and feel free to ask a family member if you’re unsure.

06 A Little Further Afield

Make a journey of it

A wedding.
And a world to explore.

Staying a little longer? Here are three places to spark your imagination. These are independent travel ideas for before or after our Neemrana wedding; they aren’t part of the wedding schedule.

The most important part is you

Will you
join us?

We’d love to celebrate with you. Let us know your plans, who you’re coming with and anything that will help us look after you.
